The Ourthe-Vesdre-Amblève Regional Economic Group was founded in 1972 on the initiative of the region’s key local stakeholders, with the aim of defending, developing and promoting its economic and social interests.
Initially an informal grouping, GREOVA gradually became more structured: premises, staff, high-performance IT equipment (mapping)… Today it extends to fourteen municipalities in the province of Liège. It currently employs around thirty people, half of whom work at the head office, while the other half are seconded to the member municipalities.
Focused on the environment and spatial planning: PCDR, PCGE, RAVeL, and a substantial database integrated into a geographic information system (GIS).
Economy, tourism, culture, social affairs — business support, management of the Maison du Tourisme OVA, and action against social exclusion.
Active lobbying in favour of the region’s interests, on behalf of its 14 municipalities and around a hundred members.
